Andrew, founder of SHW, grew up woodworking with his father; his love of design and making saw him train for a BA (Hons) in Industrial Design at Coventry’s prestigious design school.

Andrew began his career creating products for some of the world’s most iconic consumer brands, from British Airways to Dove Skincare, but his love of craft and working with wood saw him return to his roots.

Renovating and furnishing multiple homes over the years left him frustrated at being unable to find furniture that suited his functional needs or sense of aesthetic, so he started making his own. Having been a founding Creative Director of a leading design agency for 20 years, Andrew now brings a client-first, design thinking approach to free-standing and fitted furniture and kitchens.
