PROCESS

GOOD DESIGN IS MOSTLY LISTENING.

We begin every project with a conversation — about your home, your brief, and the things you haven't quite articulated yet. We ask about flow and light and the way a room connects to the next one. We ask what you love about spaces you've been in, and what quietly irritates you about the one you have now.

From there, we move into design. We work in CAD and produce detailed drawings, but we also sketch, discuss, and iterate — because the best outcomes come from a process that stays open until the right answer emerges. We don't present one option and hope you like it.

Once the design is resolved, making begins in our workshop at East Bergholt, where hand craftsmanship and CNC precision work together. We don't see these as opposites — the technology serves the design, and the hand finishing is what gives it life.

We work directly with homeowners and alongside architects and interior designers. If you have a design team already, we'll integrate with them. If you'd like us to lead the design process, we will. Either way, the experience is collaborative, transparent, and — we're told — genuinely enjoyable.

Our showroom is in Dedham, Essex. Our workshop is in East Bergholt, Suffolk. We'd love to show you both.

1. CONVERSATION & INITIAL PROPOSAL

Design plans and material samples for a kitchen, including layout sketches, cabinet and drawer details, wood finishes, and concept illustrations featuring an island and cabinetry.

WE START WITH AN INTRODUCTORY CONVERSATION TO UNDERSTAND YOUR NEEDS, PROJECT GOALS AND STYLE PREFERENCES.

FROM THIS, WE CREATE A FIRST DESIGN PROPOSAL AND CORE SPECIFICATION, WHICH FORMS THE BASIS FOR AN INITIAL BUDGET.

TO SECURE YOUR BUILD SLOT AND MOVE INTO THE DETAILED DESIGN STAGE, A 30% DEPOSIT IS REQUESTED.

2. DESIGN DEVELOPMENT

A collage of images showing kitchen cabinet design process, including wood samples, sketches, blueprints, 3D renderings on computer, assembly, and a room with installed cabinets.

THIS IS THE EXCITING PART…

TOGETHER WE REFINE YOUR VISION, SELECTING FORMS, MATERIALS, FINISHES AND DETAILS. MEASURED DRAWINGS, CUTTING-EDGE 3D CAD VISUALS AND SAMPLE FINISHES HELP YOU SEE YOUR DESIGN COME TO LIFE BEFORE PRODUCTION BEGINS.

3. WORKSHOP BUILD

Collage of people assembling and working on wooden furniture, including cabinets, drawers, and shelving units in a workshop.

YOUR PROJECT MOVES INTO OUR WORKSHOP, WHERE WE CRAFT EACH PIECE WITH PRECISION.

A FURTHER 30% PAYMENT IS REQUESTED TO COVER MATERIALS, FITTINGS, AND APPLIANCES.

WE ENCOURAGE CLIENTS TO VISIT OUR SHOW SPACE AND WORKSHOP DURING THIS STAGE, REVIEWING PROGRESS AND APPROVING DETAILS SO YOU CAN WATCH YOUR PROJECT TAKE SHAPE.

4. DELIVERY & INSTALLATION

Modern kitchen and dining area with a high vaulted ceiling, exposed wood beams, and large windows, featuring a gray kitchen island, open shelves, black dining chairs, and a wooden table with a vase of flowers.

HAVING BEEN TEST FITTED AND CHECKED IN THE WORKSHOP, YOUR PROJECT IS DISASSEMBLED INTO ELEMENTS FOR DELIVERY.

OUR TEAM WILL BE ON HAND TO RECEIVE DELIVERY AND EITHER START THE FITTING PROCESS (IF YOU’VE COMMISIONED THIS SERVICE) OR HANDOVER TO YOUR CONTRACTOR.

THE BALANCING PAYMENT IS DUE JUST PRIOR TO DELIVERY
