THE CHURCH HALL KITCHEN
SUFFOLK
Working in close collaboration with architects C&G and their friends L&J, this project formed part of the thoughtful renovation and extension of a former church hall, reimagined as a relaxed yet refined weekend retreat.
The result is a space that balances architectural character with a calm, contemporary sensibility — a setting designed as much for quiet escape as it is for gathering.
Created for open-plan living, the kitchen is anchored by bespoke ‘V’-groove pocket doors.
When closed, they form a seamless, architectural façade; when opened, they reveal a carefully considered interior housing the fridge, bar area, and coffee station. Achieving this level of refinement required absolute precision, with each groove meticulously aligned across the cabinetry to create a sense of effortless continuity.
The result is a kitchen that feels integrated, intuitive, and enduring — designed to support both everyday rituals and moments of retreat.
