THE WALNUT KITCHEN

ALDERSBROOK

A destination, not a thoroughfare.

At our Aldersbrook project, the kitchen sits at the heart of the home — a central space that called for thoughtful design to transform it from a point of transit into a place of arrival. In collaboration with Shacklewell Architects, we carefully shaped a kitchen that invites pause, connection, and everyday ritual.

Set within an open-plan ground floor, the design embraces clarity and restraint. Clean lines and understated detailing allow the space to settle effortlessly into the wider architecture, creating a calm and cohesive flow throughout the home.

Tall cabinetry draws inspiration from classic New York apartment kitchens, with sleek walnut doors and beautifully crafted solid walnut handles introducing warmth and tactility. These are balanced by handleless base units, resulting in a composition that feels both refined and quietly contemporary.

Discreet pocket doors reveal a dedicated tea and coffee station, while also offering subtle access to the rear family room — ensuring continuity without interruption.

The result is a kitchen that is as functional as it is considered: an elegant, enduring space designed not simply for movement, but for living — a place to gather, to linger, and to enjoy.
